DANISH WEATHER - Calendar 1978
Designed by Her Majesty Queen Margrethe as a presentention to the Guild on the occasion of their 50th jubilee, March 1978.

Quoting the foreword by the Queen:
"The Danish year and the Danish weather are so closely connected that I cannot imagine one without the other. Always changing, very seldom predictable - sun and rain, gale and calm, mild in March but ice-cold in May; wind in August - tranquil sunshine on a day in late autumn. Howeve, I have tried to select something I feel to be characteristic of each month, and hope that others too may be able to recognize the year in Denmark."

All of the designs are worked on the choicest evenweave linens using the original Danish Flower Thread, a 100% pure cotton unmatched for its soft natural colours, its pleasing matte finish, and its ease of use, whether with single or double threads. The high quality materials ensure the attractive naturalistic appearance and the durability of the finished embroidery.
