The Year in Cross Stitch 2008 from Håndarbejdets Fremme has been designed by Kirsten Lehrmann Madsen, who is a Master of Science with botany as her main field of research. She is also a drawing artist and a painter, specializing in faithful representations of plants. She has painted 12 beautiful watercolours with motifs of plants where the selected colours and plants symbolize the months of the year, from the winter's dark colours to the brighter and warmer colours of summer. The composed motifs are circular and monochrome. As a source of inspiration the calendar also includes 12 photos of models with motifs from the calendars ‘s embroideries.

The motifs are embroidered on bleached linen 12 threads/cm with Danish Flower Thread.
